Privacy policy

Last updated 9 July 2026

Kalvo is built to need as little of your data as possible. There's no account, no tracking and no advertising. This policy explains what we process, why, and the choices you have.

What Kalvo is

Kalvo is an iPhone app that estimates the calories and macronutrients in your meals from a photo, text description or barcode, and helps you track them against personal targets. It is provided by Think Commerce Ltd.

Data we process

Meal photos. When you scan a meal, the photo is sent to a third-party AI provider that analyses it and returns an estimate. Photos are used only for this analysis and are never stored on our servers.

Your food log and targets. The meals you log, your targets, weight entries and settings are stored on your device.

Optional iCloud sync. If you enable sync, this data is stored in your own private iCloud account, which we cannot read.

Optional Apple Health. If you allow it, Kalvo can read and write your weight to Apple Health. You can turn this off at any time.

What we don't do

  • We don't require an account or sign-up.
  • We don't track you across apps or websites.
  • We don't show ads.
  • We don't sell your data — ever.

Third parties

Subscriptions are processed by Apple, with subscription status managed through RevenueCat. Meal-photo analysis is performed by a third-party AI provider. Each processes only what's needed to deliver the feature, under their own terms.

Exporting and deleting your data

You can export your log to CSV from within the app, and delete all of your data at any time. Deleting the app removes the data stored on your device; data in your private iCloud is removed through your iCloud settings.

Children

Kalvo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update this page and the date shown above.
